Student Loans For Part Time Students In UK

Those looking out for the basic information to apply for a student loan in the category of part time education in UK can get more on this section. Generally, the loans available in the part time student loan category can take care of the tuition fee and other important course related expenses, for which the student has got admission.

Eligibility

Part-time undergraduate students, who are studying at least 50% of an equivalent full-time course (your college will be able to tell you if your course qualifies). Entitlement to the grants will depend on your income and that of your husband, wife or partner. For example, a single student with no dependants may be eligible for some support up to a prescribed minimum income(the income levels for students with partners and dependants will be higher than this). Your LA (or the SLC if you live in an area testing new student finance arrangements) will work out how much support you can get.

If you are on a part-time teacher-training course, you are not eligible for part-time grants but you may qualify for full-time support.

Students who already have a degree cannot normally apply for this support.
There is no age limit.

Part-time students with disabilities or specific learning difficulties, including distance-learning students who are studying at least 50% of a full-time course, may be able to get 'Disabled Students'Allowances.

If you receive the grant or fee, but your tuition fees are more than the amount of support available to you, you may be eligible for extra support from your institution. Your institution will decide the amount of support you are eligible for. Please contact your institution for more details.
